    2. eagle seems to be a fake...

    and cap a "Franki"...

Lining, tag, original to a period cap (but more lower rank) top "Reichsleiter" customized...

Re-build. Note the stitching below the piping. No CW cap was ever shaped like that.

Probably was one a nice CW Orts.

It also gets my vote for the ugliest-shaped Franky I have ever seen.....

This one is a ground-up fake and it still has a better shape than the Franky:

Thanks for the opinion Stony !

But this kind of stiching on a PL cap is not really a criterion for me (perhaps more on a color piped W-SS), this stiching do exist on real "Orts" level caps...

It's more the not homogeneity between it's lining and the outside top

Think a "Reichsleiter" would not wear a "bottom-of-the-range" made visor...

Pascal, I agree, poor stitching is common on Orts caps--but I would never expect Clemens Wagner to do such a poor job for a Reichsleiter!

Pascal, could you enlighten us why you think the eagle is fake? Perhaps a larger close up will help. Thanks.

I'm perhaps wrong but I do not like this "worn out" aluminium eagles, design of te head seems odd too...
Of course could depend of the maker... But this insignia does not correspond with my criteria of authenticity.

Below the "Reichsleiter" cap eagle an original bird.

It's probably one of those cast copies going around. I don't like the gilt "traces", either.

                            Pascal,

Any chance of taking a photo to show the reverse of the eagle 'copy'?

                            Thanks.

I'm sorry but the cap does not belong to me and is not at home...
