The proliferation of these cig cases remind me of the hokey beer steins that were offered back in the 1980s. There was a set of RK recipients and SS officers as I remember. All "artfully" done. I talked with a guy who actually was collecting them as original. Jack, you aren't actually buying this crud are you?

I think you should be cognizant of a pattern forming in respect to engraved cigarette cases.

A large percentage of the cases from the era were not engraved or perhaps engraved with initials. if a gift to an officer engraved with initials and unit with possible short dedication. it cost a fair amount to have a case engraved, and most had more important things to spend the marks they didn't have on!
