Im not an expert on medals, but I dont think I've ever seen a PAB with a date on the reverse before. Im sure someone with more expertise on PABS will chime in.

This one, if real is made by Arno Walpach. This is a scarce badge. I am not qualified to say whether it is real or not. But from what I see I do like it so far.

You will want to show closeups of the reverse hardware. The way the finish has bubbled on the reverse is indeed a good sign. This type used a high quality finish.

I learn something new everyday. I surely would of passed up on dated PAB. I'll be sure to file this one in my memory. Great find indeed.

A very nice example of a scarce PAB.

Gotta agree, a very very nice and hard to find bronze AWS PAB, great finish.
                        Nice score!!

Lsmilitaria - you'll find the Friedrich Linden, Ludenscheid middle-to-late-war PAB's are marked "FFL 43". Earlier "FLL" PABs can be either die struck (hollow back) or die formed but they will be without any markings.

Thanks again guys for the help.

these were also in the lot the guy bought over the years at yard/estate sales.

He's a "picker"... and most of his stuff was just various antiques and collectibles.

Look at the lines at the crimp, that is what you want to see on these PAB's...they are highly faked and as far as I know they did not get that right (yet)
