Late war printed eagle in wear

    Hello,

A friend of mine just had his second volume about the Estonian SS-Volounteers published, and he gave me permission to show you guys this photo which might be interesting, as it is a version of the sleeve eagle not to often seen in period pictures.

The photo shows a group of estonian SS-volounteers during the late summer of 1944. Looks like the SS-Unterscharführer closest to the camera sports the eagle on some kind of field made tunic made of army splintertarn zeltbahn complete with collartabs, shoulderstraps and estonian flag, which is not of the standard Dachau-pattern, but the nicer one with the estonian lions.

    Anyway, enjoy!

If anyone else has pictures of this late war eagle in wear, I would gladly see them.

Wow! Someone finally came up with one of these in wear. Too bad theywere all sold as fakes because there was no photographic evidence. I'm just kidding, but there was doubt for a long time. Thanks for posting!

Fantastic photo and great evidence of these debated eagles. There is another photo that was distributed previously for those who bought that kind of eagle from an english dealer... I think I will try to get one ....

              Cheers and thanks for sharing!

Here is a closeup section of one of the photos of a printed sleeve eagle in wear, that are in a period album belonging to Martin (the "English dealer" referenced above). I believe he has not shared the complete photos online, because he wishes to preserve the publishing rights for himself or a future owner of the album.

Here is a cut-off I found, which I believe to be authentic.

Before the photo appeared at Hannahs Reich they were $60-$80 and many people did not want them. Good luck finding one now.
