    Silver PAB !!! Need Help!!!

    Hello,

I have this silver PAB and i have any Questions.

Is this an original ? I think that it is Original, but i am not a PAB-Expert

    Who is the Maker?

    Is this Variant rar ??

The Pin and the Catch ist magnetic. The Badge is a little bit "gewölbt".

    Here are the Pictures:

    Hi Gringo,

as far, as i know, your PAB is a good one. I can´t say anything about maker or rarity, but i have seen this variant a few times on this forum.
I am sure, someone of the Badge-pros can tell you more about this badge.

    best regards,
    Gerd

Your PAB appeas to be a late model "Zimmerman" which is considered authentic. However, these badges are being seen with ever more frequency on the market (5 in the last month that i have seen) and all are bronze.

I bought this badge from another collector (friend) and he had this badge in his collection for a long time. I didnt see them that often on the market.

          Hi Gringo,

Don't worry, this is a good later war sc Zimmermann. It's not the last of the sc Zimmermanns because these featured crimped in hardware but it's certainly later war.

All the good reverse hardware was used and they had to do it with everything they could lay their hands on. The hinge is probably left over stock from the early days because this type was already used on the very early buntmetall PAB's

I'll post you my example to compare it to. Note on mine that the outlines of the original hinge and catch areas are still visible. On yours they are completely filled away. The catch on this version IMO is made out of the original catch plate.

                  Hi Philippe,

The "evolutionary timeline" runs from right to left (early to late) in this image, yes?

                  Best,
                  Greg

That correct Greg, the other way arround would have been more logical but I always forget that the scanner reverses the image
