    More KM RKT

Here is 4 more KM RKT that I can't ID. Does anybody have an idea who they are? I have a lot of these, but most of them are too small to ID, or they don't have RK, so they are lost to the ages. 3 of these photos have "VELOX" on the back, the one in upper left has "AGFA LUPEX" but none of them are shiny, like a regular photo. Do you think these are Russian "Archives" photos? What's the deal on those RA photos? Are they mass-produced crap, or one-of-a-kind photos?

Your response to my inquiry about the RA photos would be welcome.

The problem with these photos is that they are all modern reprints and made to look as if it are old period originals.

Ebay, Epier, and many other auction sites are overloaded with them, with and without "Russian Archive" stamps and notes on the back of them.

Eric-Jan[/QUOTE What a nightmare! I'm glad I got some genuine signed KM stuff in this lot. About half of it is this Russian sjit I guess. Do they use "Agfa Lupex & Agfa Brovira" on the paper, too? How about "VELOX"? I even have a couple marked "Oberkommando der Kreigsmarine" that I suspect are bogus.

It's not necessary. I can see they are all the same. Nobody here mentioned the fact that the surface of the repro photos is dull, not glossy. I don't think the Germans did any photos in dull, did they? Weren't they all glossy, or semi-glossy? Except Hoffmann & like post cards, of course. I've got $1.00 a piece in them, so I will sell them cheap, and tell what they are. I got a very good deal on the lot! I got about 25 period photos, plus 20 Russian sjit.

No other scans needed. On your authencity question, the photographs are reprints of reprints (not directly copied from an original photograph).

These days you have to be carefully to look to the papermarkings. A recent while ago old stock paper have been sold around. They just print scans on old stock paper. Therefor you have to gain experience in the years of photo collecting. As always it are the details which give it away. One most important thing to remember: Third Reich = Quality 'made' and if you are not sure, don't buy.

I finally figured out which one you meant, and you are of course correct. The lower right is Ulrich. Thanks, again. I wonder if the upper right, and the lower left is the same man?
