      Hmmm

You need to mail that tab to me. I see a whole lot I like. It should only take me a few months to finish my Blacklight Test. E, F, D who cares! Seriously, why the E label? Saving Money on taxes would be my first guess.

Nice tab. "E" labels are rare, but they do exist.

Peter, I occasionally see D and E tags on hand-embroidered cloth, do you agree with the school of thought that this is done to save on taxes? I think the D and E tags cost less money that the F tag or so the conventional wisdom goes.

            what rzm tag?

I think the confusion as to what code to use starts at a elementary grade school education by the the majority of the people doing the work , simply put it just confused them , the same could be said of what insignia they where to wear, just to many regulations in a short period of time. I really would not want to get caught cheating the RZM, Uncle Heini would not be happy , we all know what happened when that occurred.

My only encounter of the "E" tag has been on bullion skull tabs of the later horizontal type. I think there was a change to the tax or a means to bridge a gap between the skull tabs and more elaborate embroidery such as the general grade oakleaf tabs which still retained the "F" tag for the most part. Just a theory.

Thanks for quick responses. This is the first E label i had seen on this type of tab. The adjustment in tax is a good and plausible theory!

                  Cheers

                            sir,
do you feel this is a copy?
I know hand embroidered insignia can be a minefield but this item looks very well made and as 'textbook' as hand embroidered stuff can be!!
                            tell us more,
                            please

                              Here's one ..............

This has the officer border, and an 'F' tag.

Could the 'E' tag have been for the borderless types ???

Slightly less work in making these.
