    ebay Pour le Mérite

Words that do not go well together, I know.

I have noticed this seller trying to offload this multiple times, and it always attracts bid.
Just 1 shot posted of it, not even a reverse.
Pic looks to me like it was lifted off some site, ring a bell with anyone ?

This seller also lists and relists a very suspect Luft pilots badge, which you can see in the sellers completed listings.
Here is a pic of the cross, since links to ebay auctions expire before long.

I owned a "Spanish Fake" as well once & there's a very good thread on them, couldn't find it...

That is not a Spanish PLM - in fact from what I can see, I would be reasonably comfortable saying that at the very least it is a PICTURE of a real PLM...

(Disclaimer - I am giving myself a get-out clause because of the small single photo and no reverse, but it's certainly not the Spanish Fake)

I struggle to see how the seller can continue to offer the piece time and again on ebay, whilst attracting bids, and not be pulled for fraud? It's guess work but I fear that anyone who "purchases'' this piece will certainly notice the difference between what they bought and what they receive....

I would be extremely interested in seeing more pics of this James - a reverse would confirm many things - any chance you can squeeze some out of the seller? If they can't provide them then it is fairly obviously not a piece that is, or ever was, in their possession.

          Plm

The cross has the S&L look with the UR are joined but it has the eagles of a wagner .S&L eagles have the legs going straight across . it was made by rothe in the 1990s and they sold out in the early 2000s and these were copys he made . he add both looks so buyers would know it was a fake . Hope this will help you out .

Maybe someone else can sweet talk this seller into more pics - I have somewhat of a history with her, if in fact it is a she, so I doubt if she'd oblige me.
Her standard answer for pic requests is "My crappy camera phone broke lol, I'll try to borrow my bf's cam".

The Luft pilot badge that she keeps relisting, I bought if for a $300 BIN, great deal.
I wanted to be sure though, and requested high res pics before I sent payment.
She gave me the broken camera routine, then got bent out of shape when I wouldn't pay.
Said she had to buy her new born baby some Xmas presents ,,, And this was 3 weeks ago.
As if my heart was just going to melt thinking about the poor babay and I'd sent her the payment no morw questions asked.
I said no pics, no pay ... So finally after 3 days she sent me pics.
Not only was it of a different badge, but the pics she sent to my email were hotlinked to dealer sites, I could tell exactly where she pulled them from.
Needless to say I told her to cancel the auction, and she did.
She continues to list the pilots badge, with the Swaz covered up, and has sold it at least 3 times.

This PLM she already sold 2 weeks ago for $380

May have to be logged in to view completed listings.

She claims to have a crap camera phone, this pic was obviously not taken with anything like that.
Its gotta be from a dealer site, maybe some of you guys with good WW1 dealer links can do some quick prowling and see if you can find out where she filched it from.

I tried to rerquest extra photos but the seller doesn`t take questions, or so the site has just told me.

At the bottom of the page, click ask question.
Click other, then you'll be allowed to ask a question.
Gotta be logged into ebay to do it.

Man, I'd just be suspicious from the fact that the listing didn't even have a reserve...

I guess people get what they deserve hoping to get a what, $10,000 decoration for $125 on ebay.
I'd still like to know where this shyster pulled this pic from.

                    Found this

                        Good.
I have little faith in ebay doing the right thing, but it don't hurt to try.

She now has a few questions about it posted in the auction ,,, Including one guy that wants to make an off ebay transaction for a cancelled mothers cross auction of hers.
She stupidly agrees in public, ebay might just get upset about that.

"Q: hi I was bidding on the mothers cross that ebay canceled please send your email address if you want to sell it without them thanks
A: Yes would like to work something out. denisespieces83@yahoo.com"

My god, how dense can a person get ?

                          What a shock.
The item sold for $165.50 today, and its already relisted, didn't even wait 24 hours .. Along with the Luft badge that she already sold 4 times, and has also gotten it pulled at least 3 times.

Ebay is complicant in this crime imo.

They are facilitating criminal enterprise, no question about it.
Their excuse of "we are only a venue allowing seller & buyer to meet, but have nothing to do with the transactions" seems to hold up fairly well in courts.
