This is just a guess, but judging by the shape of the visor caps and gymnasterka-like uniforms I´d say these guys are from the communist period army.
I can´t see well enough if the cap eagles have the crown or not.

A few from them has a badge "POS-Państwowa Odznaka Sportowa
" (National Sports Badge) used before the year 1939.

You have to admit, that was not a very helpful answer. Couldn't you have given at least a bit of explanation?

                they

They certainly look more Russian than Polish uniforms and hats ... even though some are sporting the POS badge.

Possibly Poles in the Russian/Soviet army ... but not Poles under Polish control .. maybe Lithuanians ?

Like Gromow said, they`re KOP soldiers. The uniforms are acually Polish wz.24 field uniforms which were slip ons.

                        Hi
Definitely Polish pre-1939 soldiers under Polish command!
                        Greetings

So the answer to the original question would be that these are Polish POWs in Germany during WWII, the expressin on their faces tell a lot.

                            Hopefully!

For the others: "Besslein" has a problem with me, but do not have the balls to read my PMs...

Maybe they're Germans dressed up as Poles...like Brandenburgers...which explains the German postcard...
They do look worried though....POW's would be a better explanation! but would they have access to making such postcards I wonder?
