    RK winner Gustav Pinkepank

And here is the last grouping i´d like to share with our new friends.

For me as a KM collector surely the highlight of my little collection.

As usual i copied my old thread to here to make it a little easier for me

I added from my collection the naval clasp and the minesweeper and i was able to get a nice EK I and cased DKiG These two new pieces will be shown here.
Missing and will be added is: BWB, medal bar with EK II/4 years service, Riiterkreuz mini, Ritterkreuz (takes much time)

    Who is that guy?
    Well, it´s Korvettenkapitän/ Fregattenkapitän a.D. Gustav Pinkepank.

Sadly there´s not much written about him and i searched all my known sources so it will be only a short story.

Born 18.12.1907 in Hannover - died 24.11.1979 in Wilhelmshaven

He received his Knights Cross as the leader of the 2. Räumbootflottille on 12.08.44.

German Cross in gold on 17.02.43 as leader 2. Räumbootflottille

    01.04.56 Bundeswehr as Fregattenkapitän
    1956-1957 commander 1. Schiffsstammabteilung
    1957 A3 at Kommando Flotte
    1957-1959 S3 in Schiffsstammregiment Glücksburg
    1959-1960 Standortkommandant Flensburg
    1960-1964 commander Küstenumschlagsbatallion 2
30.09.64 he left the BW as Fregattenkapitän and was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande (reason why not on ribbon bar)

The big picture of him with his short vita is taken from the book "Die Ritterkreuzträger der Bundeswehr" by Clemens Range/Andreas Düfel (Copyright)

Thanks for lookin friends, i hope you enjoy the small "group"

Forgot to add that i could finally get a very nice 60s visor hat from the Bundesmarine

Hi again Rudiger! Just a quick reply this time, as everything i said about the Hartelt grouping applies here too!!
It saddens me to see vets groupings split up just to make a bit more money
Good luck with finding the "missing" pieces you need, and well done for helping preserve history!!

                Hi Rüdiger,

Adding Pinkepanks RK - which I obtained from the same vendor - like you, wish I could have afforded the entire grouping .

Thanks guys, your replies are much appreciated. Sadly the RK is on the one side complete lost for me on the other side it´s still here in our family. Better so than otherwise ...

The other parts will be added slowly, you know that problem with missing money when a good one pops up or when there´s money --> no pieces Always the same....but it´s still going on. With a little bit luck i can add his original 57er minesweeper, BWB and naval clasp sometimes

Thats what i was thinking, at least its in the collection of someone who will look after it, and the connection with Pinkepank won't be lost!!
Imagine if someone outside of the forum had bought it, it might just be another anonymous RK by now!!!

What an outstanding grouping, and with all those beautiful medals I find myself most intrigued by the "Kurland" ribbon and device. Is this a strictly 57 award or were they awarded at wars end?

I don't know much about 57's but I'm trying to learn!
