    Ritterkreuz S&L B-type "800" question.

    Hi.

    I got this Ritterkreuz today.

    1. As I understand this type of Ritterkreuz could be produced before May 1945, but mostly like after May 1945 ?!?

    2. What is the market value of this cross ?

    Thanks for help.

    Regards

    Derek

Is your cross magnetic? If not it is probably post 1945, and worth about 1200$.

                      Best Regards,

                      Adren

A couple of months ago, I offered $1500 for a decent one of these (with frosting remnants , no raised beading flaws, and good paint). The thread had over 6000 (!) views and I didn't have a single bite, so that should tell us all something. Where are all these, if there are so many supposedly around????

If its magnetic there is a chance it is pre 1945 made, although not a guarantee.

I can't help you more, there should be someone here who knows more.

The S&L B type is not very wanted in collecters community in any case, because they are so controversial crosses.

                            Best Regards,

                            Adren

The 935-4 and 800-4 crosses are, of course, "B" types, and are certainly wartime. IMO, they are the only "B" types intended as award pieces. Other "B" types which may be wartime were simply commercial pieces and should not be priced the same as pieces intended for award through the PKZ.
