      Hi Tony,
I've highlighted the area of concern in the pic, the weave above the fold line is the problem, which is I think is considered a sign of a fake/copy.

Here are two fakes, top and bottom with an original in between, hopefully this shows what I mean

          Greetings All,

A bad eagle in my opinion. All of the classic manufacturing marks of a reproduction on the rear.

Interesting to know if they were listed on the capture papers, or just with them?
This is an interesting twist on this matter and I await a response from Johnny VDH, as I'm sure he'll notice this thread sooner or later.

PS I think that these eagles have only been identified as copies since then.

                Greetings Keifer, Jerry,

I have absolutely no doubt that this is a reproduction eagle. None what so ever.

I cannot pull up the thread that you mentioned though and would love to see it.

                    re

Well I just had a Closer look at the ones I have
The weave line at the back that Jerry pointed out is mostly a bad sign

I compared this weave line with know repro,s, and this is not the same
I only saw these one,s in Kriegsmarine design

Well Do have a look at some comp.pictures that I made
First of all the back and front of an OS kriegsmarine tropical cap without these lines( IMO 100% original)

First of all some repro eagle,s with the weave line we know that,s a bad sign
Do compare these with the back of the 2 Kriegsmarine with the other weve line Jerry pointed out

                          re

I also saw on the known repro,s there was a very hard to see thin weave line in the section I pointed out in this eagle
Wich is easy to see on original ones( also the eagle wich started this thread)

Do have a look at the point,s I marked
(This is not the case for every bevo cap-eagle)
