BKA questions for hardcore BKA collectors

    Good Evening,

On the German Combat Awards forum we are doing a bit of homework regarding the so-called Juncker BKA.

I've posted few questions there, and I would like to know if anybody here would be able to answer.

    1) Are you aware of any ground dug-up Juncker Flat-back BKA? (only Hollow-Semihollow are known to me; at least 20 which I know of)

    2) Are you aware of period pictures of the Juncker BKA in wear?

    3) Do you know of any Flat-back BKA aquired from USA\UK vets bringbacks?

    Many Thanks

(No problem, we already know the answers...)

                  Ludwig,

would you agree that this is a strange thing?

No. No. These have been seen on so-called "salesman boards" sold and bartered to Occupation soldiers in Ludenscheid immediately after the end of the war.

P.S. PM'ing Bob Hritz may give you an answer, as he is probably one of the most knowledgeable SS collectors in the world and has probably more veteran
acquisitions than anyone else in the U.S.

Gee, sounds almost as strange as there being no photographic evidence of the KM Bacqeville badges in wear, only Bacqueville supposedly made the entire range of KM badges throughout the war and much earlier than the BKA was established...the question remains.
                      Cheers, Steve

                        Hello Steve,

                        Thanks for the answer.

So, would you explain me why not even one Flat-back BKA was ever found amongst many H\HH ground dug BKAs?
I did try to research on these ground dugs, I have found as many as 20 and no trace of Flat-Backs.
Is this strange, in your opinion?

Is the badge attributed to Bill Stump (Frame #34) considered an original Juncker? This question was asked in the thread below (Frame #50), but was not answered:

                          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...l+Stump&page=3

Would be curious what conventional wisdom is on that. Thanks.

...It wasn't really an answer more just an observation tinged with the tongue in the cheek regarding parallels with another contentious debate...on your second question above, strange? I don't know, but is it conclusive of anything? I don't know if that's the case either...Don't assume that I'm just being a smart arse here. I am happy to have an answer to the question you are trying to resolve here whichever way it goes!
                            Cheers, Steve

No, I would not agree, because just because I haven´t seen, doesn´t mean it doesn´t exist.
