I have always been a fan of the movie " The Bridge at Remagen " so while on my trip to Germany a few years back i had the opportunity to spend a couple of days at Remagen between Bonn & Koblenz on the river Rhine, the bridge always facinated me as it was the last standing bridge on the Rhine—it was captured by soldiers of the U.S. 9th Armored Division on 7 March 1945, during Operation Lumberjackfor and to give the Allies the chance to cross into the guts of the Third Reich, there is a small museum located in the exsisting towers of the bridge on the west side of the Rhine river which is worth a visit...some pics to enjoy !
