    Trash Can Find!

Driving to work this morning I noticed a helmet sitting on top of a trash can sitting at the curb. Needless to say my curiosity made me stop. I found what appears to be some sort of Japanese box, a helmet and a german visor and a few other assorted things. Needless to say I felt like a kid in a candy store as I stood there digging in the trash.

Anyways, here is a picture of the box I found. Can anyone tell me what it is used for?

Hoo boy ! that's a heck of a dumpster dive !! The box used to contain ring sights for the Type 92 Flexible Machine Gun Rev.1, made at the Toyokawa Navy Arsenal back in 1942. Unfortunately, the flag is probably a Seebee creation or some other enterprising GI ware, but is still pertinent in a historical sense.Would love to see the helmet and the visor you got too.
Could be more stuff in the house. May be worth knocking on the door and asking the resident.

A few pictures that I was able to save. I really like the two with the flag. there was another 20 or so photos that had some real nasty stuff all over them so I had to let them go.

I will take a picture of the helmet and the other belt I found this evening after I stop by the house to see what else might be available.
