    Unknown Mag pouch? FRIEDR.BECKER & CO.K.G. Berlin SW68

    Hello everyone,

I am wondering if anyone knows what this magazine pouch is for, and if it is war time or post war. Any info would be great. As stated in the title, it is marked: FRIEDR.BECKER & CO.K.G. Berlin SW68

Any help would be great, any chance it is for an FG42

RylanBrissette - It is a post-war ammo pouch developed for the 20 round 7.62mm magazine of the FN FAL (G1) Rifle as issued to the the West German Army, Border Guard (BGS), and select police agencies.

Although difficult to see in this scan, the pouches are being worn by the BGS troopers in this honor guard detail mustered in the mid-sixties.

At one time this was a hard item to obtain, but is now very common, at least in the U.S. market. They can usually be had for around $5.00 and it is not unusual to seem them offered complete with magazines.

I have not seen that maker mark before and "57" is a fairly early date for these. If that was an FG42 pouch, wow.....

Sorry to say this, but IMO these postwar marching boots and steel helmets are just ugly.

Thanks for the replies, I figured it was probably post war, but since it was cheap I decided to buy it anyways. I didn't know the west Germans used the FN FAL, very cool. The construction style of these pouches seem to be very similar to the war time stuff.

            G1 ammo pouch

I recently found a whole box (12) of these. They are stamped with different dates and MAX STELZER, H ROGGE, GOCK, among others...I couldn't find any takers locally, so I just put them on Ebay.

This one is from 1957? Notice how similair the construction is with ww2 pouches: the rivets, stitching, hardware, the leather trimlines etc...

I agree, looks like a regular K98 pouch that has been stretched!
