Last month I was fortunate enough to visit Crete, and whilst there visited several places of interest to the military tourist with a view to posting them on my return. First up is the British & Commonwealth War Cemetery at Suda Bay.

All of those buried are in marked graves, and all grave locations can be found in the register. Circled (not by me) is the entry for Gen Brauer, who was brought back and executed on the anniversary of the invasion.Comment

The cemetry is beautifully maintained and very peaceful, a credit to the German War Graves Commission. I tried to imagine what it must have been like on 20th May 1941...Last edited by Seigfried; 10-26-2008, 01:44 PM.Comment
