I am going to be posting pictures of a paratrooper group here, and though these pictures could go in several forum, I will post them here because I believe this will yield the biggest return. You see I’m not altogether altruistic, this is a relatively new group to me and I would like your comments on the photos (what you see that I don’t, being the para collectors that you are!).
The group is to DK recipient Dr. Robert Mallison, who received it on the 9th of April 1942 as part of 1. Fsch.San.Abt XI Fliegerkorps. I will start now, and continue as time permits over the next few days. My lack of time will actually be a blessing in disguise, as I hope that you guys will chime in with comments on the photos.
Anyway, onto the good stuff. The group came with a letter from his daughter, who stated that he got the EK II and EK I in Holland, jumped into Crete, and received the DK in Russia (as confirmed and expanded on by me above). After the Captain was wounded (I do not yet have the details of when/how), he served in Munich as a Doctor. He died in 1964.
