    Fallschirmjäger Doctor; jump, fight, heal.

I am going to be posting pictures of a paratrooper group here, and though these pictures could go in several forum, I will post them here because I believe this will yield the biggest return. You see I’m not altogether altruistic, this is a relatively new group to me and I would like your comments on the photos (what you see that I don’t, being the para collectors that you are!).

The group is to DK recipient Dr. Robert Mallison, who received it on the 9th of April 1942 as part of 1. Fsch.San.Abt XI Fliegerkorps. I will start now, and continue as time permits over the next few days. My lack of time will actually be a blessing in disguise, as I hope that you guys will chime in with comments on the photos.

Anyway, onto the good stuff. The group came with a letter from his daughter, who stated that he got the EK II and EK I in Holland, jumped into Crete, and received the DK in Russia (as confirmed and expanded on by me above). After the Captain was wounded (I do not yet have the details of when/how), he served in Munich as a Doctor. He died in 1964.

    Here are all his medals,

                Seba,

Nice grouping. I would say that the first two (parade) photos are from parades for the victory in Fortress Holland ( June 1940 (time of parade))
and the last one is the "blume" parade after the Crete victory (July 1941)

Any idea which unit he served in during Holland? Was he with Dr.Neumann's people?

Training? And didn't I read that German Paras did not jump with guns?

No, I don't know. I know he was with Reg. 1.

                        Here is another picture.

Russia, look at the helmet (and though I do not know a lot about helmets, I know this one would be quite expensive!).
