Then & Now: 16 SS Pz.Gr.Div in Rome

Hello friends
I have some well know war-time photos for you, but never (I think) seen in then&now version .
The SS Sturmgeschutz abt. of 16 SS Pz.Gr.Div "Reichfuhrer" into Rome (between january and february 1944) go toward Nettuno Front

In a little street very close People Square (called "via dell'Oca"..that translate is...Duck street ). The write "Dal Bolo" is "Dal Bolognese" restaurant, and this restaurant exist with the same name and in the same place today also!

yes thanks heaps for your hard "field work" to show us the B-and-A. in the USA many such places of these places would now probably be ugly shopping malls, "home depot" "walmart" etc.

in the Old Country they don't pull down
simply because they can.... I like that.

These "then & now" pictures re-enforce the concept that Rome is the
eternal city. No matter how much history changes, Rome remains the
same. Untouched by conquerors and vanquished alike. It's beauty is
still fascinating because its architecture is unique in all the world. Your
photos due an excellent job of proving my observations. Thank you for
such a candid look at a sight that most of us will not be able to directly
