    Help with unknown fatigues/ overalls?

Hello can anyone help identify this top and trousers. They are a large size, big enough to fit over the tunic and trousers. The blouse is half fronted and fastens with a single button at the collar. The trousers have a drawstring at the waist and cords at the bottom of the leg. They both have similar manufactures markings? German or something else? Cheers.

KGF might perhaps be the abriefiation (if that is spelled correct) for: Kreigsgefangene, in English Prisoner of war.....

            just a thought

This sound good to me, as the quality is quite basic.

Thanks. This sounds good. I hadn’t thought down this line. I can’t find any reference of a great war POW uniform although work wear was produced.

Could anyone give me a ballpark value as I am thinking of selling them? Cheers Nick.

Sorry, I don't think these are WWI. First of all, I think they would be marked in some way, as they are obviously an issued type of thing. These markings are not typical for WWI and there was no such clothing for prisoners anyway.

These are not army fatigues either. WWI era Drillich and Unterhosen were different, both in cut and cloth. I think they are WWII Kriegs-Gefangene Unterkleid. The lack of buttons on the fly makes the bottoms most certainly Unterhosen.

Thanks for the idea Chip. This has made me look at them again and I have found this thread which points to POW clothing. Thanks Nick. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...&highlight=kgf

In the book by Kraus on the Imperial German Army there is a section on POW clothing. They were issued black tunics/trousers with black overcoats and caps. The Red Cross required servicable clothing and Allied uniforms were replaced when worn out, underwear issued etc. The set you have is not pictured I still personally think they probably are WWI but there really is no way to know without a date stamp or photos etc.
