A study of EKs- Square Punch

Not sure if these are considered a maker or a quality mark, but I have seen EK1s with them and I have an EK2. It has a square stamped in the ring. The core is zinc on this one. A unique piece.

It has been said before, but bears repeating again here.

Those square punch marks have also been found on Prussian pilot badges.

There is still no breakthrough on discovering for certain what/who these marks represent.

but this way we cant round them all up in a data file to compare what there is,,,, or not ...
looking at what we got ,,its no quality mark fore sure .
