    EKII, 'reworked' F. Zimmermann

One more example to prove that lost crosses always find their way back home again. I returned one of these crosses months ago thinking it was a Zimmermann copy. Weeks later a thread was started proving the frames were made from reworked F. Zimmermann frame dies. The core is still a mystery. Last week a very good friend in Germany offered one more of these crosses to me 'out of the blue', and here it is now...back home. I'm keeping it this time.

    Thank you, Rainer

          Thanks Steinar

It is an odd cross. I just can't seem to locate any other cross with this particular core. Weeks ago there was another cross like this that was very heavy with aged patina, giving me reason to believe that these were period crosses.

            Robert,

            That's a really nice example.
Re-worked frame it may be, but I still love that wide beading!

            Regards - Danny

..... Is that a touch of oil visible under the beading on the core?

Yes, Danny, it is oil. That's the way it came, and the way it will remain. I presume it's some sort of snake oil to preserve the paint, etc. Yes, the wide beading is really appreciated when held up against another cross.
