It is my understanding that originals did not have ribbed fins on the swordfish. Instead, the fins were smooth. I believe member 'Ludwig" knows much more about these and perhaps he will comment.

From the look of the pin/hinge this might not even be a 57er version but a casting of one. Is the hinge part of the badge or a seperately applied piece?

Yes, only fakes posted here! The only badge/clasp I have ever seen – and felt good about – is in Detlev Niemann´s book. And that badge is just a prototype IMO. I have never heard about any K-man being awarded a metal clasp.
