is this a pioneer knife or a simple knife? the seller says that it was found on a pioneer pouch.

IMO this is just a normal pocketknife that might have been used by a pioneer but also could have been used by a kid on a fishing-trip. I don´t know enough about pioneer equipment to give you a straight answer

This type of knife is still used by electricians for stripping insulation from electrical cables to this day, may be related to the duties the pioneer carried out or could be post war. Hard to say unless the knife is dated.
