            Hi Thomas,
The ribbon setup is commonly called a 'ladies ribbon'. I believe, (and I will stand to be corrected) that it was used by wives whose husbands had been killed and they wore their husbands decorations? Not sure if your setup is period though but maybe someone else can offer an opinion.
Has the core on the EK been painted and then cleaned?
I've attached an example in my collection. Photo taken by Ben Bijker.

I do believe that the core has been cleaned, but not repainted.
What is the value of this or your piece?

              Thomas.
              Best regards Thomas.

man i love your pictures adrian, i see wax build up on the sides and not sure of the ribbon and pin on back, i would ask if the ribbon is original, it maybe a add on but i am not as qualified as some here. the first flag would be how clean and perfect it is. it does look like a 3 pieces but the rest i would question. good luck

                  Hi Thomas,
Not really sure what value you could put on it. I'm not sure about the ribbon, as nomad pointed out, it looks really new in comparison to the EK and IMO is a recent addition. The thin piece of ribbon in the centre looks more like the type found on '57 minatures although you do find this type on RK ribbons as ties. The cross itself is not the best looking and if it has been cleaned, it wasn't done well. The swastika still looks like it has a new coat of paint.
Hopefully someone else will stop by and give another opinion, especially about the ribbon.

                    Thomas,

Your cross is an original Grossmann & Co., Wein '11'.
