U-boot Wehrpaß front clasp silver and more

    Hello,
here i want to show you a wehrpaß with really rare inscriptions, the owner got the u-boot badge , the iron cross second class , the u-boot front clasp in bronze and the same clasp in silver , he also got the so called Führerpaket when he was in hospital, the wehrpaß shows some signs of age and use but i myself never saw one with a front-clasp in silver inside
    but look yourself

Great Wehrpass! You do find some good stuff. Thanks for posting.

          best
          Hank

Apparently I'm not paying full attention either...I didn't notice it was the soldbuch! HBC

Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

This is a Soldbuch, not a Wehrpass, but still a great find!

Very nice Soldbuch......I won't pick on Hank for not noticing as he is new to the job

Herr Burkhardt would appear to have served abourd U-281. The security check 6.11.1944 and most of the signatures authorising the awards are that of it's Commander, Kapit******228;nleutnant Heinz von Davidson.

Also authorising the F******252;hrerpaket Oberbootsmaat Rudolf Gr******252;ske

                  Hi,

                  Nice Soldbuch you have there.

I made the U-281 crewlist for Ubootwaffenet, with the information I received from Herr v.Davidson.

Your man Heinz Burkhardt, Funktion: Zentrale, Dienstgrad: Masch.Gfr., made all the 5 Feindfahrten on U-281.

In 2000 Burkhardt was still alive.

The man who signed the Führerpaket, also mentioned by Ian, is the Seem.Nr.2 Btsmt. Rudolf Grüske, he too made all the 5 Warpatrols and died in 1983.

                  Unternehmungen U-281.

                  1. Bergen aus 5.10.1943, St.Nazaire ein 28.11.1943 = 55 Tage.
                  2. St.Nazaire aus 5.1.1944, St.Nazaire ein 5.3.1944 = 61 Tage.
                  3. St.Nazaire aus 6.6.1944, St.Nazaire ein 15.6.1944 = 10 Tage.
                  4. St.Nazaire aus 9.8.1944, La Pallice ein 14.8.1944
La Pallice aus 4.9.1944, Flensburg ein 5.11.1944 = 68 Tage.

                  yours friendly
