    Dutch Wool

    Hi

I would like to share a M-40 Heer tunic manufactured with Dutch Wool. It is interesting that does not have the button for the shoulder straps in spite the fact that it hads an acceptance stamp. It is also interesting that it has some internal modifications. I thought it may had been an unissued piece, but could it be a tunic issued for clergy?

Very nice and rare. The hooks are to anchor internal braces, load bearing straps that eliminated by around late 41 or 42.

The lining is Dutch Army cloth as well. I am almost surprised that they were making these as early as 1940 in that the Germans demoblized a lot of soldiers after the summer of 1940 and production seemed to fall off a bit until late 1941 or early 42.

I don't know much else to say about it except if it was dagger it would be worth 10k! Uniform variations do not seem to be nearly as much appreciated.

                        Hi Gentlemen,
Not really sure but IMO this Feldbluse could have been produced in Belgium : the letter A should mean Antwerpen (Anvers)
                        ciao!

My understanding is that A=Aachen but I won't argue it.

I have heard some say Amsterdam.

                            "A" For Amsterdam?

A lot of collectors in Europe have told me that The "A" is the Army clothing Depot in Amsterdam Holland, that would make sense as the tunic you have is 100% Dutch Wool-as is I think the other M36 you have? Must be post May 1940 construction than with a early style collar.

Large numbers of Army clothes were made in Holland during the War and most the Dutch military material captured in 1940 was reused.

I have another Dutch made tunic that I will post later today also with "A" Depot stamps. It is a summerweight tunic made of cloth that I have never seen another example of.

                              "A" is for Amsterdam

I just got a nice surprise. I have not opened the tunic in 5 years or so and there are the size stamps over the Depot Marking and date "A 41" with the original manufactures stamp below for Utrecht, just southeast of Amsterdam.

I changed the color of the image in photoshop to enhance the stamps.
