57 RK by S&L (Early Version) & Case of Issue

    Hello

Here are some photos of my 57 RK manufactured by S&L. This is an early version, the frame having the 'die flaws' and is marked '800' on the rear frame under the loop eye. The loop is also stamped '800'. Also shown is it's case of issue.

As usual, any comments or observations welcomed.

    Regards
    David

Nice early S&L RK you have there!

I think the other pieces you posted are 70's-80's vintage. Here's my early DKiG.

                    Hello

That is one very, very nice, very early DKiG, and by the looks of the rear setup a S&L made DKiG. If you ever decide to sell it please let me know.

I think that quite a few of my 57 items are 1960s pieces, judging from the finish, quality and the pin hinge set up. A couple of exceptions are the late RK with Oaks and possibly the DKiG, which is most likely a 70s piece. The DKiS I suspect is a 60s piece as it is still using the enamelled ring, rather than a painted red band.

                    Regards
                    David

Could you post some large photos of your DKG in a separate thread?

                      Thanks

                        Thanks!

I'll try posting larger pics, but I've had problems with larger photos before being too big for the fourm. Any suggestions on how to post larger photos?

Photos can be max 700 pixels wide and 750 pixels high. This is enough to display all details in a cross or badge in my opinion.
The photo i have posted below is 700 pixels wide and 750 pixels high. It is a screen shot from Photoshop showing the size of your photo above which is 329 pixels wide and 240 pixels high.
