Communism representations on the Eastern front

Do you have any pictures of communism representations from the Eastern front in your collection? I have seen in some collections Lenin and Stalin statues that have been broke or sickle and hammer signs that have been replaced by swastica. Do you have any of those in your collection? I would be very interested to see them.

Here is a statue of Kirov an old Bolshevik that has been liquidated by Stalin in 1934. I can't figure out what the German soldiers have written on the statue.

Here's one showing captured portraits of Stalin and another Soviet leader. I do recall some more photos of broke Stalin statues, but I can't find them for the moment, sorry.

Hi Tim, the other portrait looks like Molotov (of cocktail fame ) to me?

      Cheers, Ade.

        That's correct Adrian

Here he is on the right with Stalin, when signing the German-Russian non-agression pact (also called the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact) in 1939.

I have just picked 2 of these.

One with a Lenin statue brocken and one with a red star.

Wow very nice Soviet plaque from Azerbaidjan Larry! I guess what is in the center was what Hitler wanted to have after the battle of Stalingrad. I'll have to look at my history book, but I didn't know the Germans did reach Azerbaidjan during the war.

I wish I could get some day pictures of German soldiers holding a captured Soviet banner.

                  Hi

Thanks for the information. The photo is from a 78 Sturm Division album if that is any help to you.

Here's another damaged statue in Russia. Head and arms have been smashed off so it's impossible to ID who the statue represented.

                  Cheers

Toppled statue. Writing on back says: "Kirovograd Aug. 1941."

                      Great!

The last picture is from a Lenin statue.

                        Hi

another pic of an occupied Russian town. You can see a statue of a sitting man who looks like Lenin.
