This is a text book example. Just the way one should look. You should be proud of that one.

Near perfect fakes are out there. It's marrying them to the helmet with the proper aging that is the problem.

I'll let Pete add to this but I see many things I don't like even though it exhibits some of the special ET traits.

I believe it to be fake proper type decal for Clk/ET but fake non the less pretty
                scary

I would like to know how you know for sure this is a fake decal. Pete, you said in your first post that you thought it was fine. What changed your mind? I can't find anything wrong with this one. Maybe I would have a different opinion with a hands on inspection but I would'nt be so quick to judge. If this helmet is for sale, please PM me, I would be interested. Charly

Sorry, the decal may be also nice in the design, but the silver and the "first look" ( normally are the first 3-4 seconds) that I receive looking a decal,
                        are definitely BAD.

I like it !, looks like a text book 1940 pattern ET shield. I also like the the
                          aged lacquer.

I think the Nae 's need to brake it down and give the reasons why they
think its bad . I've been collecting allied and axis helmets 30 + years
and learned quite a lot from the forum.I want to continue to learn and
make good educated oppions. Please give reasons why you think its
bad, this way we all can learn.

It doesnt look like the decal is on there for 60+ years. Even if the helmet was very little worn I would expect more natural aging.

                            Just my thoughts,

                            Jens

I agree. We can fly a bomb thru someones bedroom window from 40,000 ft., but cannot recreate the look and deminsions of a decal produced in the 1940's, I don't think so. It's matching the old with the new that is going to be the only problem, and believe me, down the road some advanced collectors are going to be fooled!
