    Some of my Kriegsmarine items

    Hi folks,
I would like to post some of the KM items in my collection. Most of this stuff has been posted already. It is not the largest collection, but I like it.

Here is my Imperial U-boat badge, it was most likely produced by the Juncker firm and was designed by Walter Schott. This is one of my favorite pieces. I love the verdigres on this badge.
    Regards,
    Jody

    Imperial U-boat

The reverse. Notice the flaw in the spelling of the name.

      KM War badges

Here are some of my KM war badges and all are by Schwerin Berlin. Here is one of my Schwerin Berlin U-boat badges, I have an earlier example which I will post later. Some of you old timers will remember the following pics of my KM badges from my old web-site Beltram's German Militaria. That web-site I had up from 1995-2001.

            Minesweeper

Here is a nice early example. This badge was originally found in the front right pocket of an American Ike jacket. The jacket had been purchased from a goodwill store for $9 in 1980.

                High Seas Fleet

Another favorite. I paid $55 for this badge in 1979 and at the time, that was top dollar. Those were the days.

                      Blockade Runners

This Blockade Runners badge is cased. This pattern badge is the type with the circular indentation on the reverse. Notice the bubbling to the finish.

                          U-boat document

Here is a early style U-boat document and it bears a striking image of a U-boat badge. This and the following EK document belonged to Hans Klenner of the U-93.

The U-93 sank a total of 8 ships for a total of 43,392 GRT. Klenner was lucky enough to have been taken prisoner on January 15, 1942 when the U-93 was sunk in the North Atlantic by the British destroyer HMS Hesperus. Six of the U-boat men were killed and 40 were made prisoners. The final commander of the U-93 was Horst Elfe. On it's last mission the U-93 had sailed from St. Nazaire on December 23rd, 1941.

Does anyone know how I can find out if Hans Klenner is still alive?

                            EK document

Here is the Hans Klenner's 2nd Class EK document. Exactly 11 months after this EK was awarded, the U-93 was sunk (1/15/42) and Hans luckily became a P.O.W.

                              Spange Document

Here is a rare 2nd class Spange document for a KM officer. As you can see this KM officer served in Italy. What makes this document rare is that it features the rarely used Latin script.
