    21 Destroyed Enemy Tanks

Putting aside the price, any thoughts on this document grouping?

I really like that special Anerkennung document and that’s probably the best Soldbuch portrait I’ve ever seen. The SB is, however, a Zweitschrift which could arguably have an effect on value. It’s a great group and I don’t see any red flags at first glance. The price seems pretty excessive though.

I don’t know. There are no true comparables to a group like this. Pricing is subjective. But, I look at “luxury” Militaria listings all the time and I’m puzzled by this offering. It seems it should, at least, include the Prelim RK document to warrant such a price. To each his own. They can list it for what they want and anyone is free to buy it. It would be a great addition to any collection and it’s up to the buyer to ultimately feel good about it.

It is quite a boring set really and unfortunately you can not avoid the price. If it was being sold at a massive reduction then it would be ok but for what is on offer it isn't a $27,000 set. If it was an original Soldbuch and had his TDB citations (or at least some of them) and his RK citation then great but all the interesting stuff isn't really there. It has shades of Rommel's & Sepp Dietrich's Soldbücher - upon seeing them you are left feeling disappointed.

And bear in mind there looks to be a question mark about the photo in the Soldbuch. You can see a light stamp in the top right corner and it almost seems to run on to the photo but the more you look at it the more the two parts don't seem to align properly and where is the rest of the stamp - both top right and bottom left - that should be on the photo?
The black circle illustrates the path of the stamp and where it should be on the photo but the red arrows indicate where the stamp mark is so has it been added from elsewhere and by who?

That has been on the site for years and was originally on their auction but it never sold and so they added the commission to it and listed it for sale and it has sat there ever since.
