It looks good, but these typically had flat pinbacks.

The photos are inadequate but I agree that so far it looks like a good “Type 2” but with a replaced main pin. Here’s a previous discussion illustrating the two types of Schott (and a fake):

I’d still wait for clearer photos and closeups.

        Best regards,

I believe the badge is a fake. See the attached auction from the biggest faker on ebay.de.

          https://www.ebay.com/itm/WK1-U-Boot-...53.m1438.l2649

Note the imperfections on the laurel leaf. You don't see that on original Schott's. It would have to be from the die so I assume it was on the badge he used to copy. They appear on both this badge and the one that started this thread.

Excellent observation Don! I had missed your last thread on these. Interesting to note that the seller "Marc Poredda" is in the same city and zip code as Staegemeir and uses the same photography style...

A dangerous high-end reproduction, nicely exposed.

                Best regards,
                ---Norm

He also goes by adlernest01, vanderbilt4392 and wunderstar.

Not only does he sell high quality fakes, he won't accept returns or give refunds. He's got a nasty personality as well.

The connection to Staegemeir was also mentioned in this thread:

That's the same badge and same photos as the opening post.

                        Best regards,

So porre81 and furchtlosundtreu14 are one and the same person. I thought the badge had sold so now I have to wonder if the buyer saw this thread and cancelled the buy or if he is just reusing photos.

Either way Don, great pickup and great info on a dangerous fake.

                            Regards

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
