Oak Leaves Holder in Post#111

Gentlemen,

I wish we knew who was the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves holder was in post number 111. The holder was an German infantryman who served in Africa and the Eastern Front. Holder of the Bronze Close Combat Clasp and all three level of the Wound Badge. I think he was from the Heer.

Here, George, let me assist:

It is a 1957er medal grouping to a career policeman who started out as a Schupo Leutnant and served with the 4th W-SS Polizei Division on the Russian Front. He rose to the rank of W-SS Major in the Police Division by 1945 and continued service in the West German Police after 1948 rising to the rank of Polizei-Direktor. The kicker is that he was also a Gold Medal winner from the 1936 Olympics and the 1938 World Games.
