With ref to Speer did you notice how his cap cords kept coming and going?
Anne Maria Kemph always said he hated uniform, and tried to wear civvies as much as possible, but AH insisted he tow the line as a minister. ( his official cap would appear unique, the wreath seems as though the two lower left and right sprigs go further out than most......almost like Rommels bullion wreath.
I'm hoping to ask his younger architects son, also Albert, if he has anything left. (he has lots of architectural sketches, plans letters etc...)

Another interesting point this about that photo is that is shows general rank officers wearing the gold insignia on their caps, (authorized January, 1943), and the earlier silver at the same time. Both Jodl and Keitel wear the gold, and the guy between them, who I think is Guderian, is still wearing the silver insignia.

Yes true...it is Guderian with F. Porsche and Karl Otto Saur. Its the tank and weapons testing facility, Rugenwalde I think. I must say I like the silver combination with gold.... a nice contrast. I dont know if anyone has noticed but another point is that in most cases the wreath was bullion and the eagle metal with the silver versions.

Nice one, John--Ledermantels always look best on W-SS.

BTW, here are 2 LW generals--note the blue is not a true LW blue (compare to Bruckner's):

Hi, Im new here about questions.
I would like to ask you, whoes are have original leather greatcoats. My question is: can you measure on the coat the spaces between the buttons horizontally and vertically?
My second question is: I dont know how the master tailors done the deattachable buttons with the inner (breast) pocket. I had collected a hundreds of greatcoat pictures from the net, but i've no picture from the inner pocket+button holes. The first two or three buttons can be see in the inner lining, but the last 2 or 3 buttons I cannot se. Are those in the pocket and if yes, how?
Can you make me a few pictures about it?
              Thank you...( :

I had forgotten about this thread. I have a set of pictures (taken outside in the winter) of the same coat that I posted earlier. It is still part of my collection. They are a little bit better than the previous pictures I posted, but the quality is far from perfect.
I will have to get new and better pictures taken

As for Kaltenbrunner's question, the measurements between tbe buttons in all directions would vary, depending on the different sizes on these coats. The larger the coat is, the further away the buttons would be from each other.
The rings for the detacheable buttons, are not placed inside the inside pockets. I don't have any good pictures of this at the moment.

                  Cheers

LW-cut Ledermantel. This one is cut exactly as the wool overcoat, and does not have removeable buttons or provisions for a liner:

Franz of Trieste posted this most interesting Ledermantel--note the loops on the back of the half-belt for placement of the leather belt:
