    Tom.

As one StG-44 proud owner, to the next, let me add my "bravo"

to the list. Well done display !! I am working on getting a few of the bits that

you have in your display. I love my weapon, and would not part with it.

I just ordered a case of original MP-44 ammo., vintage WWII. I don't think

I have ever seen the whole phospated finis like yours. I have a phospated

mag. You give me inspiration. I shoot mine full-auto. that's the only way

    to fly baby !!

      Tom,

Any chance you can post pics or maybe a short video of you shooting this beauty? How do you reload Berdan primed ammo, is it difficult?

Hey, I would love to shoot it full auto... sometimes mine fires two rounds in stead of one... then everybody starts looking at me and you see people think

Btw, I don't reload berdan, but I make my own shells (from 30-06, .308 or 8 x 57) you need the RCBS sizer set.

Here a picture of the different stages

        from left to right

        - 30-06 shell
        - shell through form die
        - shell through trim die
        - trimmed an anealed shell
        - reloaded

btw, I was hoping to see other peoples Stgw44 displays, there must be more out there

Neat Tom, how do you aneal the case? I found the brass gets too thick at the bottom.

          Here's my pair:

The one with the sling is a MP43, the other a MP44 I have a packet of '45 produced ammo, but that's the limit of accessories I have for them.

            Tom,

Simply outstanding! I'd forgotten that RCBS made dies for this round, and .30-06 brass is available by the truckload!

            kiwicollector,

Indulge me, PLEASE. . . with the wacky gun laws I have heard about in Oz, are you guys allowed to have full auto rifles in NZ?? What do you have to do to own guns there? What's illegal? Thanks!

WONDERFUL picture! This is what I love about the STG44, it looks like something out of the Star Wars adventure.

RayG, very impressive, looks like you have your own museum there, well done
...a quick question , how does an MP44 compare with the firing of an M-16, this is my humble point of reference... best regards

Hi David, I only put about 100 rds through an M16 but if I recall, it fired a lot faster then the MP44 and had a nice pleasant recoil. It could hold on target pretty good in full if I remember. You could hold the MP44 on target as well and it also has a nice recoil, slower with a long bolt travel that is very pleasant. My thompson rises up at first, first rd on, 2nd one higher and the 3rd way high. This is apparently caused by the heavy bolt recoil movement, not the recoil from the 45acp itself. But if you are firing a long burst you can bring it back down again on target. Ray
