    Hello,
I don't want to hijack this thread, but I would like to comment about the RK des KvK with ribbed hanger.

One of these had come my way through a friend from a veteran source in 1980. The piece was made of zinc and had a silver finish applied. The piece was starting to get bubbling to it's finish. The item was sold at the Great-Western Show.

I believe Angolia also had an example that was also made of zinc.

Has anyone seen one of these ribbed examples in silver?
    Regards,
    Jody

Erich Weise (Waffen-SS, holder of the RK d KVK m Schw.) had one in zink, if I remember correctly.

Can anyone here provide a contemporary photo on a holder of the KC of the WMC w/o swords, with the loop clearly visible? I searched the web, but still no real luck.

          Hello Peter,
Besides the color shot on the Wehrmacht-Awards web site these are two others I could come up with. Sadly, it is rather hard to tell.

Here is the other. Hitler gave his Dr. Morell one in late 1944.

Thanks Jody. I have found a couple of images, slightly better quality than these, but still not good enough to determine the shape of the loop. I've been told that wartime photos has been the proof of the different types of loops, but I've seen any of these images. I assume there would be at least one out there.

Still hard to tell, but a bit of reflection tells me this is a plain loop-

                    Hi Chris,
I agree that is a cool shot, I forgot about that one. When looking at the images I posted with an eye piece it looks like a smooth loop.

                      Hi Chris,

Here are two more images to pounder over. Try saving them, blow them up and do a comparison. You'll be surprised of the outcome .

Nate, Schloss Klessheim is a chateau/castle dating from early 18th Century near Salzburg, Austria. Nicknamed 'Cinderella's Castle' by the US forces that discovered HORDES of mint, unissued Third Reich awards, that had been sealed in a room. Awards included the standard RK and the RK KVK.

Thanks for the explanation Thomas!! This fact just makes the awards from the chateau more special.
