Here is another scan of a negative. Looks like REMF posing with an AP round in gun emplacement. Southern France or Normandy? Ones guess as good as any.

          Mike,

Some nice negative shots!! I haven't visited this thread for sometime but I just picked up two GI war booty shots. Both GI's are wearing a German Helmet, brandishing what appears to be a 1st model Luftwaffe dagger and wearing a pair of Jackboots!!! #1

                          Tim,

That photo is from a 2nd Armored division vet's photo album I own. I found at an antique/flea market.

I posted in on the GDC SS forum a while back, maybe that is where you saved it, unless there is a duplicate out there that someone sold on ebay.

The guy in the photo was one of the vet's buddies, his name was on one of the photos. I mailed him copies of the photos he was in, and talked to him on the phone. Unfortunately he did not have the uniform any more. In fact he did not even remember wearing it for the photo.

                          Regards,

                          Fred

great example of the quality of gentlemen we get on this forum. i guess the gi in question in the fascinating wss panzer pose had been elevated of mood thanks to grain or grape. how else could one forget ever wearing such a mix of top 'kraut' kit?
