Here are some others that are Thai made. The stamped metal pieces are interesting they have a stiff doe skin like material as a backer with clutch backs. The 2 on Camo material I beleive are for a Thai uniform as I do not recognize the pattern as being W. German. These were all purchased in the early 80's out of Thai tailor shops and insignia manufactures stores.

Gents, a bit of topic, but is the first Paratrooper in the line up in post #147 wearing a sports badge on his Affenjacke ? if so, was this normal ?

Hi,

it was, at that time, not normal, to wear a badge in the original size.
I don't see a sports badge, but I can not identify it.

Funny how regulations change because you see how his uniform is set up in this picture and in a few short years his Korean Presidential unit citation would go on the right side and his paratrooper badge as a foreign jump badge would go above the Presidential unit citation. Interesting set up

Did we previously establish that this badge was worn by Bundeswehr troopers who graduated from the NVA jump school before the Unification or is it merely a fantasy badge?

Interesting photo. Is it dated? I don't think this photo relates to TJs question though. Considering the uniform in wear and the badge on the sleeve it was probably taken after unification.

... especially the name of the "guild" (Fallschirmjäger-Traditionsverband Ost e.V.) is a very strong evidence that this is a post reunification organisation ... and the complete badge a civil design made and issued by this organisation. Most possible this organisation is one of the groups of ex NVA members who "dislike" to join "western" organisations as the Reservistenverband which for sure represents the Bundeswehr tradition ...

I found this early stick-pin to be attractive and well-made.

It seemed unusual in that it depicts the Airborne patch rather than one of the actual jump wings.
