    78. SS-Standarte wedding picture ?

    Hi,

    my friend helbe just found this picture which seemed to be showing a couple, the man seemed to be a member of the 78. SS-Standarte ?

    Anyone can confirm that or discuss this picture ?

    Notice the brown (?) uniform, the "cufftitle", the caduceus on the top of the rank tab...

    It is a SA officer with long service stripes on the sleeve.

        Hi,

        So the guy should be from SA-Standarte 78, Standort Nürenberg , SA-Gruppe Franken.

        Anyone can comment on this still unknown caduceus insignia over the rank tab ?

          SA veterinarian insignia worn about 1934 - 1936.

          Also note that the darker portion of the collar tab piping is lighter than the tab itself and therefore cannot be black and aluminum.

            After looking at the insignia behind the collar tab, it might include a staff and so it might be medical, not veterinary.

                I think you were correct with your first assessment of veterinarian, the medical rod when seen in photos is much more apparent.
