From what I learned, many of the dies and much of the production remains were not sold to Eastern Europe but rather to someone in Austria. I'm not certain if the paperwork went to the same place though. Personally, I tend to believe that the papers were destroyed at the end of the "R. Umlauf" era.
Many things about the Souval firm are still not known today and much will remain unknown but at least some things are becoming much clearer over the last few years.
I still find it rather amusing that a large part of the collectors community still likes to call a pre-LDO period Souval RK - a "Sedlatzek RK".

    Regards,
    Alex

I have asked my friend in Wien to went at Souval shop address (Siebensternweg as I remember correctly) to see if he is still in business.
My friend told me that at this address is now a totally different shop (with some decoupage items)...

Patryk, the old shop at Siebensterngasse 23 has been closed for a very long time. It's now a shop for french home decoration wares.

Are you talking about the shop at the Opernring ? It's very close to the Karlsplatz.
If so, I talked to both of them as well. They also told me they bought many items of the Souval shop when it closed. Unfortunately they couldn't find anything Souval related for sale at the time.

I didn't know they had a new location.

So Alex what is now at the "new" address - it is still there, or no as my info says?

The last registered address was in Zieglergasse. However this firm didn't have anything to do with the Souval KG of the "Mr. Umlauf years" besides the firm name.
It's really a shame that all the paperwork seems to be lost forever - then again I know how hard it is to even find pricelists of the postwar years. I have a few, but don't even ask how difficult they were to find.

The paperwork and dies might show up, who know what is up in some attic in Wien.

What happened to Herr Weithofer's military shop that was down the street from Souval?
