That is a very crude fake, probably cast from lead.

This is a classical case of a cast one-piece copy. Besides this major flaw, detailing is just awful compared to the original badge, and the hinge, pin and catch setup is all wrong. Have a look at this badge for comparison (sorry for the rather bad pics)...
