    Object unknown SS

    Hello
    the person who sells the eagle also sells this object.
    I have never seen of object like that.
    I would like to know if these an object of time period or an invention.
    Thank you for expressing me your opinion.

    Probably a period piece
    But my gut feeling is that the runes and motto have been added at a much later date to fetch a higher price.

      I would check for dings,dents,sharpness of the edges ect.An item that old should show some wear even if cared foe thru the years.

                neat item but likely enhanced with the motto and runes.

                I find it interesting that Thorsten is so quick to judge this as a fake but all his stuff is 100% original.

                  A less orthodox way of telling if an object is good is by the amount of private messages you receive from people here wanting to buy it after you post pictures of it.

                          After around 70 years I would expect to see some patination to the wood and it's missing in this case. I suspect the whole thing is a recent creation although I have to agree it's a neat one.
                          BTW: I hope someone "cleans up" this thread!
