    DDR Late Flächentarn Uniform

I had a repro jacket and trousers before, now I have bought original ones, both from 1965, the jacket doesn't have the hood anymore, it has a simplified front button system, and the foliage loops have been modified.
The trousers have buttons at the bottom instead of drawstrings.
I have the old style belt and the self containing Y-straps with the hook-in-hole system.
Rank insignia are of the old type and are Feldwebel rank.

I also have the smaller backpack with Zeltbahn and the small magazine pouch

I know the use of the AKS was quite limited but I just slapped it on there because of good measure, and because I had it lying around:P

    Cheers,
    Michel

    Genosse,
Nice Scale of Issue, minor points, with the Flächentarn Uniform and Equipment it replaced the Bread Bag Combo with the Assault Pack Nr1, also you wear the E Tool on the right like our " Friends" do.
I too have a Yoke which has had large D rings added to it.

And I do like the top strap on your Assault Pack Nr1 first time I have seen one of them.. I like very much.

Thanks, I thought about the Spaten after I took the picture, I alreadyput it on the right side now.
But when the breadbag is gone, where do I put the canteen and messtin? The canteen has the snap hook so I thought it had to go on a breadbag, I have never seen a good picture of a fully geared up soldier from the back so I didn't have a good reference for it.
But now I can put the breadbag on my older leather gear withe the canteen with felt cover, ppsh pouch and such.
Also I can't attache the Teil 1 to the yoke since they both have D-rings and no snap hooks on either the pack or yoke, any idea why that is?
I saw te strap once in a museum, and when I saw it on sale in Germany I just had to buy it :P
      Cheers,
      Michel

        Genosse,
The Mess tin lives in the Assault Pack, do a search on this most progressive sectors of this Progressive People's Forum.

use a Square Ring and belt Slide to carry the Water bottle.

and you need the Yoke which has Carbine Snaps rather than D rings on it..

*This image is from a Genosse who posted it a good while back, thank you Genosse for your assistance to the Protection of the Workers and Farmers Power.

Good Kill on the Zeltbahn/ Blanket Strap, if you need Woven or the later rubberized Straps PM me, I have near 100 of them, I can pass some on to Genossen who need them.

Thanks, I corrected it now, only need to find the different yoke now.
I attached the breadbag to the leather gear, and I think i got it on the right places on that one: PPSH pouch front left, straight Spaten right side, breadbag center back (a little to the left), canteen right side on breadbag, messtin left side on breadbag, Y-straps is obvious, I only need a Koppelschlaufe to attach the Y-straps to at the front right side, I also have a gasmask in a bag of the soviet khaki model dated 1956.
And I have also this Spaten, don't know if it's DDR though, I bought it out of interest, but having rivets and the smooth leather straps and pebbled leather front and back remembers me of the other DDR straight Spaten cover.

I Haven't found any stamps on it

          Cheers, Michel

              Genosse michelwijnand,

Regarding your E tool and Carrier.

Try over at the Reactionary Bonn gangster Sector of this Progressive People's Forum, our Genossen over there have a great knowledge and are very helpful.

If it is Bund Scale of Issue they will know.

Here are some pics of my ye olde leather gear by the way:

In the first picture is also a different version messtin, does anyone know how many different versions (not in color but real variations) there were and which is earliest or if it is at all period-related?
I have 3 different ones, these 2 and 1 like the right side one but with the handle attaches with 2 closed loops instead of 2 corkscrew type ends.

                  Cheers,
                  Michel

NEVER as much as you do! I know that mess tins are another one of your favourite items... like the breadbags, and the water bottles... and
It is the same for me with Stiefelhose, Stiefel and overcoats ...
                      What a sweet sickness!

                        Genossen,
As a my own Sweet sickness is mostly to do with Personal Field Equipment Complexes, to find a newly declassified Messtin strap makes me needing a change of underpants...

                        Behold....
