well if I say "enjoyed", it would be a terrible understatement!! Thank you for sharing rare great images Jason!

And I see I have a couple of stray (probably duplicate) photos from the same unit - 1. Radfahr-Abteilung with 10,5 cm - thank you the identification.

Regarding the "M" sign under "K", our expert Richard explains here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=65995

Fantastic Akira! I have never seen that photo before. It's always nice to see photos of your favourite unit. I can probably help you with a location for your photo, too. The original caption in the album for #166 is "Rast in Malkowitschi", while the two photos of the album owner posing with his Kettenkrad is "Auf Fahrt zum Ilmensee". All of these photos were taken in December 1942.

Do you have other photos of this unit?

For the benefit of everyone, I'd like to post a few photos showing the weapon that the battery used. I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll only post three.

First one shows a crew relaxing by their weapon. Note the size of the shells.

Next is a shell being loaded. Look at the size of that round!

Fire!!! Looks like the discharge of the weapon caused almost as much distress to the enemy as it did to the crew. Ears blocked, eyes shut tight, mouth closed... and of course we can't forget to mention the backblast of the weapon. It must have been visible from a long way off!

              All the best,
              Jason

Again wonderful images, never seen, I guess modellers will have great inspirations from these images!

Pity I was not aware of the photo in the albums of Dr. Kurt Pisselhoy, doctor in Radfahr-Abteilung 1, shows exactly the same unit. Pisselhoy's albums are largest in size (not photo numbers), even the "GROSSDEUTSCHLAND IN WELTGESCHEHEN" albums look small beside them, so instead of scanning I had to use digicam.

Nice to see a SdKfz.11/2 "mittlerer Entgiftungskraftwagen" on picture 159!

                    Thanks for show it.

                    Cheers

                      akira,
are you sure #155 was taken in Linz? the mountainous surroundings hint at a more alpine region...

I don't encounter many photos of 5t halftracks... Nice!

One more, a little dark, nice scene.

First large pic post. Looked better than at 700.

                                Cheers
