ww2 german cap??????

Hi guys could you check this sidecap out for me i,m not sure at all if its german ww2.its dated 1943 on the inside it came with a hj enamel badge on the front but i removed this as it was a diamond enamel from a hj knife griplate. cheers sweezz.

I think this is probably an East German cap for Kampfgruppen or perhaps Red Cross, or perhaps customs, not too sure - can't quite tell what color it is. 1943 is probably the makers number, not familiar with the maker, but the shape, construction and lining look consistent with DDR production from the 1970s - 80s.

I'm not a big HJ expert but I know that Pekuro did definitely make sidecaps for the organisation and a blue one could have been for the Marine HJ.

All I can say is its not DDR--they did not buy from West Germany, and Pekuro is/was located in Wu.-Ron. The DDR exclusively produced hats in their "country."

I cannot help you much on the cap sorry. I would advise linking this thread to a new one in the political forum.

HJ badges with prongs are not unknown on caps though.
