Zetten (the Netherlands), January '45, 2nd Bn Gloster Regt.

I wondered if anyone can help me research my Grandfather, in particular the German forces he would have fought against in Zetten, 20 January 1945 and the days immediately before. I believe that he would have come up against Fallschirmjaeger.

Zetten is approx. 24km from Arnhem.

January 20 is important in that my Grandfather was awarded the Military Medal for his conduct on that day.

My Grandfather was a member of 2nd Bn. Gloucestershire Regiment.

Hi Toby,
I am not much help in this area, but I did find a link stating that all awards that went to the 2nd Bn Glos. were given for Western battles taking place between Jan. 1, 1945 and Feb. 12, 1945. This may help pinpoint what German units were in the area at the time.
