That one was Airlife, not Ian Allan. I have used various publishers over the years.

Please see page 5 at the link below if you want further info.

            Hello

Oops, sorry. I found it on Ian Allans site, noted that the other two of your books I have were published by Ian Allan and assumed, as it's on their site, this one was as well.

            Regards
            David

                1. 'For Fuehrer & Fatherland' Vols. 1&2 by Jack Angolia
                2. 'Orders, Medals & Decorations of the Third Reich' Vols. 1&2 by David Littlejohn and Clifford Dodkins.
                3. 'Auzeichnungen' by K.G. Klietmann. (In German, but has some nice technical details).

These books are not new, but are the 'standards' and have stood the test of time.
                Couldn't agree more!

I also have "Detecting the Fakes," and I find it to be a most valuable resource, even though it was written some years ago. Any books that address the rarely addressed topic of fake detection are always welcome. After all, there are few of any sort on the market. Even though the book is not comprehensive, it is understandable, since it addresses the topic in general, covering a wide range of items. The book helps to identify all those older fakes which are certainly still out there (maybe even more deceiving because they have aged). The book also identifies the various characteristics of the originals which will, of course, also never change.

So, as a volume in your library of references, it's well worth the price--especially compared to what you may lose, if fooled by a fake.

The book is certainly good-looking and well-made but far from perfect. I did a search about it just on this website and turned up these old topics from the day.

No book can be infallible. Mr Tucker's book is certainly valuable and worth having (I bought one!) but readers need to be aware of errors in reference books.
