    Hello,

Posted this many moons ago and Eric helped out with some of the translation. If anyone can help out further, with the translation, that would be great. Also trying to determine a value, but I believe it's one of those esoteric items which might be difficult to establish. Please feel free to comment.

    Thanks,

The context of this Yosegaki is that the men shared 2.5 years together and they are sending off one of there members and saying farewell. One message refers to service on the sea and "Going after the Yankee girls", while another refers to giving a good dust-up in the Kwangton Army, Chinese girls, etc. so they are not undergoing training at one service. They must be all school mates from a boarding school (a bunk buddy is also signing) saying goodbyes to each other before joining the Navy/Army . Many are also poems. I'll just translate the main poem linked to the drawing and the rest you can have translated by a professional if you like.

"Critters in the grass, sing no song of mourning, as I shall not hold my life dear when it is for the sake of peace in the Far East"
