HJ wintercap ( Could it be?)

    Hello,

I can buy this cap but I'm not sure if its a good one.

I Know it's not a RZM type but could it be private purchase?
Or maybe somebody recognaise it as a post war cap?

    Kind Regards,

    Michael

    Hi Kurt,

It's really difficult to tell you if it's a post war or before 1945 cap.
In the 50th they were still made, so could be possible a personnal purchase, why not.

Thank you very much for your info.

Could you put a price on this cap?

      Kind Regards,

I say stick with the ones that have the RZM tag on the lining and the RZM marking on the buckle.
Most of the 1950's ones have the rubber edging around the visor. This one may have a chance, but I wouldn't pay over 50 bucks for it w/o provenance.

GOOD ADVICE. EVEN IF PRIVATE PURCHASE, THE CAP SHOULD HAVE A RZM TAG.

            Thanks for all your reply's.

Bob : How about those early '33 and '36 caps... Many of them are private purchase and have no RZM label? Like this one :

            http://www.dasreich.co.uk/head007_hj_vsr_wht_2018.htm

            And 2 of mine.

Or did'nt they took the RZM label in that time seriously?

            Kind Regards,

            Michael

              Michael,

I would say, the early caps offen lost theire RZM tag, or possible never had one and of course were no more produced after the war.

But the important point here is that the dark-blue/black HJ caps were still worn a "long" time after the war (of course without the NS insignia), this was not possible with the earlier tan models (too brown ).

So it's realy difficult to say if it's a period private purchase or not.

If you "need" absolutely a "M35" HJ cap you could buy this one, but... you'll never be sure it's a period cap or post war and as always, if ever you need to resell the item, it's better to have a regular RZM made cap: black wool, black lining, RZM tag, RZM marked buckle...

Thank you all for your reply's and time.

I dont buy this cap. Items that ''may'' have seen the war are not good enought for my collection.

I just wait for a RZM cap ( If I find one ever.. )

                  Thanks all!

                    Michael-
These Caps Are Not Difficult To Find. With A Little Patience, You Should Be Able To Find A Nice Example. Relics Of The Reich Recently Had A Complete Uniform, Which I Believe Is Now Sold. Good Hunting.

                        MICHAEL-
I ONLY NOTICED THE LISTINGS ON RELICS OF THE REICH AND NEVER STUDIED THE ITEMS AS I HAD NO INTEREST. I HAVE ONE COMPLETE IDENTIFIED WINTER UNIFORM THAT BELONGED TO A REITER H J. HE WAS KILLED IN THE INITIAL POLISH CAMPAIGN AND HIS SISTERE KEPT HIS UNIFORM FOR MANY YEARS. I BOUGHT IT OFF EBAY EIGHT YEARS AGO FROM A PICKER IN HOLLAND. THERE IS A CAP IN THE GROUPING AND I WILL POST SOME PICTURES FOR YOU THIS EVENING.
